The relief activities in the prevailing drought conditions in Tharparkar district are in full swing.
In all, 78 children up to five years of age have been treated in out-patient departments of district and taluka hospital of Tharparkar district, while 13 children were admitted to hospitals.
Moreover, 731 children were given treatment in OPD of 31 basic health units BHUs and 18 GDs under the administrative control of PPHI.
Eight mobile medical teams were dispatched by both the Health Department and PPHI in the remotest parts of Tharparkar district. The mobile teams comprising doctors treated 106 male, 201 female and 270 children and gave medicines and other requisite medical items.
Meanwhile, the Livestock Department under the command of its deputy director set up their veterinary camps in 16 villages where they successfully vaccinated livestock against different diseases.
Similarly, the Population Welfare Department of Tharparkar district had also set up their camps to spread awareness.
In addition, 245,237 families in phase-1 and 232,137 families in phase-2 have received wheat bags.
Also 36,656 family ration bags in phase-1 and 50,592 in phase-2 have been distributed among pregnant and lactating women of the district.
