A Pakistani gifted Sindhi ‘Ajrak’ to Pope Francis as an Easter present. According to sources, Daniyal, a member of St. Paul’s Parish Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi, was present in Vatican to attend the festival of Easter, a Christian holiday.
While presenting the gift, he took a ‘selfie’ with the Pope and uploaded to social media.
Reportedly, he snapped the picture in March but it started to get viral during last week.
Meanwhile, in his address on the occasion of Easter, Pope called for peace in war-torn regions of the world including Syria, the Israel-Gaza border and many countries in Africa.
Amid heavy security, tens of thousands gathered in St. Peter’s square to celebrate Mass and to hear the “Urbi et Orbi” (to the city of Rome and to the world) message of the Pope.
Francis, 81, who two weeks ago celebrated his fifth anniversary as pope, used his homily to lament deaths of 15 Palestinians in Gaza, where he said the conflict there “does not spare the defenceless”.
He urged the combatants to end the civil war in Syria and let humanitarian aid to be delivered to the people.
