Secretary Information Pakistan Peoples party Sagheer Butt while addressing a press conference here on Thursday urged the district administration to entertain the rightful demands of rickshaw drivers and bike riders before using force against them to implement the government orders. He said though the campaigns launched by the district administration against smog firing vehicles (two stroke rickshaws) and violation of helmet are appreciable but government should provide four stroke rickshaws to the poor drivers on easy installments as they have not such sources to purchase the new vehicles immediately. Sagheer Butt also criticized the strict action by the administration against bike riders and said the government was quick to implement the Motor Vehicle Ordinance without first ensuring to control helmet prices. Helmet prices which ranged between Rs 600 and Rs1,500 a couple of days ago but on Tuesday these jumped up to between Rs2000 and Rs3,000. He demanded the administration that action should be taken against the shop keepers for selling the helmet on high prices. Other office bearers of PPP including Khalid Bajwa, Zulifqar Bhutto, Abdullah Zubair, Taimor Dar were also present in the press conference.
