After a hiatus of two days, the Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Torkham was reopened for all kinds of traffic on Sunday.
Pakistan border security officials said that the border was reopened on Sunday morning and all the vehicles and passengers stuck on both sides of the border were let to cross.
In a statement on Friday, the Foreign Office had announced that the border would remained closed for two days following a request by the Afghan government to ensure a smooth election run in the war-torn country.
The border crossings remained closed for all kinds of traffic with exception of emergency cases.
