Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Friday said that Combined Online Admission System will be launched by next year for admissions in all the universities, adding that government has worked out a 10-year project for establishment of a university in every district of the province.
He was talking to Provincial Energy Minister Dr. Akhtar Malik, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Vice Chancellor Zia Ullah Qayyum, Government College University (GCU) Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Kamal and other delegations here at Governor House.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, government has saved the country from bankruptcy through well-conceived economic policies.
Talking to Vice Chancellors, Governor Punjab said that government has prepared a 10-year roadmap under which a university in every district of Punjab and an international standard university at divisional level will be established. In the first year of this project, work is in progress on eight universities. First time in history of Punjab, all the appointments in universities ranging from Vice Chancellor to low level are being made on 100 per cent merit and it is also responsibility of the Vice Chancellors to ensure merit and transparency in the universities, and no leniency in this regard will be tolerated.
Talking to Provincial Energy Minister Dr. Akhtar Malik, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar said that Pakistan is getting on its feet economically following the effective measures taken by the government for economic revival. International economic institutions are also supporting Pakistan and Pakistan will be pulled out of economic and other crises, and all the promises made with people will be fulfilled, he added.
