ISLAMABAB: Air Marshal Gavin Neil Davies, Chief of the Royal Australian Air Force visited Naval Headquarters Islamabad on Monday.
The top Australian official called on the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah.
During the meeting, professional matters of mutual interest came under discussion. The naval chief also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment and performance in the fight against terrorism, including the the participation of Pakistan Navy in Coalition Maritime Campaign Plan (CMCP) and Counter Piracy Operations.
The Australian chief lauded Pakistan Navy’s role and focused commitment in support of maritime security and stability in the region.
Later, Davies also visited Air Headquarters.
On arrival, the distinguished guest was received by the Pakistan Air Force Chief of Air Staff Sohail Aman. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force presented him a guard of honour. The Australian chief paid homage to the martyrs of PAF by laying a floral wreath on Martyrs Monument. The visiting dignitary was introduced to the principal staff officers of Pakistan Air Force. He was also given a detailed briefing on the PAF.
Later, he called on Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman in his office. Both the dignitaries remained together for some time and discussed matters of professional and mutual interest. The Australian chief lauded PAF’s leading role in Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorism. He also praised the high morale and sound professionalism of the PAF personnel. Aman emphasised the importance of mutual training and conduct of operational exercises between the two Air Forces to benefit from each other experiences.
The Australian chief is on an official visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan Air Force.
