The genesis of Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology goes back to the early 1950s when GIK, during his close association development corporation, became acutely aware of Pakistan’s dependence on foreign expertise and imported technology.
The aim of the institute is to pursue excellence in education and research by developing the appropriate curricula and teaching practices, acquiring talented faculty and providing an environmental conducive to teaching and learning.
Pakistan Post issues a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of Silver Jubilee celebration of GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology. The denomination of the stamp is Rs 8 and its design is prepared by Pakistan Post Foundation Press. The stamp will be available at all general post offices and philatelic bureaus for sale on December 26, 2018.
