LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has sought support from Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) to form the government in Punjab.
PML-N leader Ayaz Sadiq has contacted PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to set up a meeting, however, Elahi is currently in Islamabad and a meeting will take place after his arrival in Lahore.
A day earlier, Shehbaz Sharif met with PPP leader Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood in Lahore and asked for the support of six MPAs (Member of Provincial Assembly) for the making of government in Punjab.
PPP leader had maintained that both parties had signed the Charter of Democracy in the past and can work together in the future as well, however, he added that the senior leadership would take the final decision regarding the formation of the government.
On the other hand, former CM Punjab is scheduled to meet Khursheed Shah today.
PML-N secured 127 seats in Punjab Assembly, while PTI stood second and secured 123 seats. PML-Q got seven, the PPP secured six and independent candidates managed to secure 29 seats in Punjab Assembly.
