Former Sindh information minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Nasir Hussein Shah has said that the party is ready to talk with the Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) if it gives up demand for a new province.
“Every possible step can be taken for strengthening relations if the MQM-P gives up the demand for new province,” he said while talking to the media at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday.
“We can hold wide range of talks with the MQM-P in the larger interest of Sindh,” he said, adding that the incoming opposition in Sindh Assembly is well matured and educated.
Nasir claimed that July 25 polls were held in a poor manner “aimed at inflicting defeat to the PPP, especially party’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. “In this regard, a fact finding committee was working and soon the party would present a report to the media,” he said.
He went on to say that the Grand Democratic Alliance was set up against the PPP but Sindhi voters rejected them and reposed faith in the PPP. He claimed that the money laundering case against Asif Ali Zardari and others had been established to smear the PPP leadership.
He said that PPP Sindh government would launch development projects after the formation of the Sindh government. He announced that next chief minister of Sindh would be Murad Ali Shah given the performance of his previous government in the province.
